Ingredients
- 4 apples, halved and cored
- 1 tbsp butter, melted (or coconut oil)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1½ cups / 375 g plain yogurt
- ⅓ cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
Method
- Heat the oven to 375°F / 190°C.
- Set the apple halves cut-side up in a baking dish. Brush with the butter, drizzle with the maple, dust with cinnamon and salt.
- Pour a small splash of water into the dish. Bake 25–30 minutes, until a knife slides in with no argument.
- Serve warm over the yogurt, walnuts on top, the syrupy pan juices spooned over everything.
Worth knowing. The baked apples keep four days; cold from the fridge over yogurt is a legitimate breakfast.
